Spellcheck for social interactions
As GenAI becomes more integrated in our work lives, it's interesting to reflect on how it affects our personal interactions. For me, Microsoft Co-Pilot has been a game changer. It's a built-in tool that I use heavily, especially when summarizing large documents or compiling information from multiple sources. But what's most surprising is how it's transformed the way I respond to emails.
I'll admit it, most of my responses are now AI-generated. While the ideas and intent are still mine, GenAI takes care of many of the social niceties that are important but time-consuming. I've come to think of it as a logical extension of spell check. After all, spelling errors in emails are no longer acceptable and everyone uses spell check. Why not let technology take care of personal niceties too?
